QSC 3rd Junior Day
On April 1st, the QSC PhD students (Guus Avis, Sebastian de Bone, Fenglei Gu, Sophie Hermans) from QuTech/TU Delft organise a third edition of the Junior Day for all junior researchers in quantum computing.
The Quantum Software Consortium (QSC) brings together scientists with backgrounds in computer science, mathematics, engineering and physics. For the 3rd QSC Junior Day on Thursday April 1 (9:30 – 16:30h) we invite all junior researchers to sit together and explore how we can collaborate even more! We do this under professional guidance to make sure we will boost our collaboration and brainstorming skills in the process.
After a plenary opening, we split up in groups. You will get to know your fellow junior researchers, and you will learn from each other what research is done within QSC. After that, there will be a workshop on how to brainstorm effectively. And then the brainstorm starts; how and in what ways can we collaborate ? Can we come up with a new research idea, can we think of a tool that everyone finds useful, can we devise a new experiment ? At the end of the day each group will pitch their idea in front of a jury of quantum experts consisting of Johannes Borregaard (TU Delft), Ronald de Wolf (CWI, UvA) and Wolfgang Löffler (University of Leiden). The QSC Junior Day will be a great day to get to know your fellow junior researchers, explore opportunities to collaborate and boost your creative skills !
